Acrion Technologies Incorporated is a technology leader in landfill gas clean up and utilization. Using proprietary "green" CO2 Wash® Technology to clean landfill gas, Acrion's process converts landfill methane to medium BTU gas, electricity, pipeline gas, LNG or methanol, and enables recovery of liquid carbon dioxide.
SEPT. 2011 Novo Gramacho Landfill, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has selected Acrion’s CO2 Wash® technology to clean its landfill gas for conversion to pipeline quality methane.
FirmGreen (Newport Beach, CA) is supplying the equipment and processing skids to Gas Verde, S.A., the project developer and owner-operator of the plant.
Guild Associates (Dublin, Ohio), under contract to FirmGreen, is fabricating the skid mounted plant.
Petrobras, the largest company in Latin America by market capitalization and revenue, will use the project’s clean biomethane to generate over 10% of the thermal energy needed to operate its Duque de Caxias Refinery.
The Novo Gramacho Biogas Project is designed to process 12,000 scfm of raw landfill gas, and is slated to begin commercial operation by early 2012. It is the largest LFG to pipeline gas project in the world.
SEPT. 2008- Acrion's partner FirmGreen, Inc. (FGI) announces the opening of a Green Energy Center (GEC), near Columbus, Ohio. In a public-private partnership with the,
FirmGreen built the landfill gas processing facility and fueling station that dispenses compressed natural gas (CNG) processed from landfill gas.
The facility collects and cleans raw landfill gas using Acrion’s patented CO2 Wash®. The cleaned methane is converted into ‘green’ compressed natural gas (gCNG™) for use in CNG powered cars and medium duty trucks. gCNG™ is FirmGreen’s trademarked brand name for Compressed Natural Gas from renewable resourses such as landfill gas and biomass.
